COOK, Joseph Henry "Joe"
Of Hebron, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, at the age of 84 years. Born in Chebogue to Francis "Frank" and Mildred Belle Cook, Joe was a member of the Cook’s Dairy Farm family. Joe was well-liked by the customers he delivered milk to, often becoming thought of as part of their families. His home was always open to his many nieces and nephews and with young people in the neighborhood’ either to have a "heartto-heart", discuss life events or play a game of crokinole. Joe was always busy with small business ventures over the years, cutting pulpwood and fence stakes, building skiffs to hobby farms, along with fur trapping and motorcycles. Some of our favorite memories of Joe include seeing him walking in the pasture at the end of the day, greeting his cows and sheep by name. His favorite times were watching the sunrise, checking the tides and visiting Crawley’s Island. Joe’s grandchildren meant the world to him and in later years to meet his 12 great-grandchildren. They were the "pot of gold" at the end of his rainbow of life. Joe is survived by his companion, Yvonne Doucet; his daughters, Coral (Mark) Fuller, Debra Cook, Kerry Cook (Ron Cleveland); sons, Joseph (Wendy) Cook and Earl Cook; 14 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildre; brother, Neil; as well as his brother-in-law, Hugh Grimshaw, who meant so much to him. Hugh shared some of life’s biggest events with Joe. The family will always remember this. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his wife, Priscilla Jean (Hamm) Cook; eight brothers and four sisters. Over the years, before his life deteriorated, Joe was part of a family of biker friends, who shared travel adventures and big "true stories" at Tim’s. If you were not mentioned by name, please know it wasn’t intentional. Joe had so many friends and he held you close in his heart. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium. Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be arranged for a later date. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice. You may sign the online guestbook or leave messages of condolences for the family by visiting: www.huskilsons.net
