COUSINS, Roy Allen
Age 87, of White Rock, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2021, with his loving family at his side. Roy was a son of the late Russell Cortland and Olive Adelia (Cross) Cousins. Roy was a truck driver for most of his working life, and in later life, he liked accompanying his trucker friends on their journeys. Roy found comfort being in nature and surrounded by wildlife. He enjoyed snowmobiling, antique cars, playing crokinole with family, and the peaceful tranquility of farm life. He loved to work in the woods; he was still able to cut his own firewood well into his 80s, and his skill for picking the perfect family Christmas tree was well on display again this year. But most of all, Roy loved his family. And his family loved him dearly for his kind heart and his endearing silly sense of humour. Roy is survived by his wife, Helen Joyce (Kozlowski) Cousins; and his children, R. Allen (Tammy), Kimberley Stewart (Scott), Terri Arsenault (Bill), James (Nikki); as well as grandchildren, Makayla, Jon, and Andrew Cousins; Jessica and Alex Stewart; in addition to great-grandchildren, Ellie, Madison, and Russell; and sister-in-law, Margaret Cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Melvin, Earl, and youngest brother Dean, who passed away after a long illness only a few short days ago. The family would like to thank the many health care workers who worked so hard to keep Roy comfortable. It was Roy’s wish to be cremated and to rest in a quiet place where nature abounds. We know the tree frogs will watch over him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roy may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses - Annapolis Valley or Third Horton Baptist Church, Canaan. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online condolences and inquiries may be directed to: www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com
