BLOIS, Lester Archibald "Archie"

Age 95, of Lantz, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Belnan, he was a son of the late John and Ella (Keyes) Blois. Archie was a veteran of the Second World War having served in RAF Rockcliffe, Ottawa. After Archie served with the military he continued to drive trucks for Imperial Oil ending his career there after 28 years. He enjoyed travelling to Florida with his wife, Laura, spending winters there for 27 years. Archie hunted and fished and had a love of horses. He always looked forward to getting together with family and friends and playing a game of cards. Archie was a long-standing member of the Masonic Lodge in Elmsdale. Archie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Laura (Fisher); children, David (Tracey), Paul, Philip (Jennifer), Mary; grandchild­ren, Corey (Leslie), Kody (Kim), Ariel; great-grandchild­ren, Thane and Brea; daughter-in-law, Shelley; sister, Evelyn Gibbon. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his son, Gordon; brother, Orrin; sister, Marion. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 27th in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy. 2, Shubenacad­ie, Rev. Beth Mattinson officiatin­g. COVID-19 provincial protocols apply; masks are required and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. In lieu of flowers a donation in Archie’s memory may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Tributes, words of comfort and memories of Archie may be shared with the family at:
