HINES (Swindells), Edith Margret

-

Passed away at the age of 89 in Oceanview Continuing Care Centre, Dartmouth, on May 12, 2021. Edith was the daughter of the late Ethel (Kidd) and Frederick Swindells. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Weldon and grandson, Thomas. Edith is survived by her brother, Harold (Irene) and her children, Catherine (Justin), Dartmouth; Patricia (Wayne), Canso; Harold (Barbara), Oliver; Philip (Nancy), Porters Lake; Andrew (Nancy), Greenfield. Edith is also survived by her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom and Dad had many wonderful years at their getaway in Jeddore. We all spent memorable times there with family and friends. Mom was known for never wanting to leave her cozy retreat but when she did she spent time with her many neighborhood friends; the teapot was always ready. She also had great memories of her Tops pals and stitching clubs. Edith's door was always open, she is remembered fondly by all who were welcomed into our family home. Later in life she did develop somewhat of an adventurous spirit travelling to Yellowknife, British Columbia and Manitoba visiting family and enjoying a couple of cruises with friends, all of which she treasured. We would like to thank the wonderful staff on Skyview at Oceanview for their professionalism and special care they give to their residents and for their joyous humour. Edith will be interred at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to The Parkinson’s Society of Nova Scotia.
