MILLER, Mary Margaret
In her 91st year, Margaret Mary Miller passed away peacefully the evening of Tuesday, October 19, 2021. It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to our beloved Mummy. Margaret was born in India in 1930, a daughter of Mary Shirley Whilelmina Violanta Hoogewerf and Albert Alexander Connor. Margaret was predeceased by her first daughter, Susan Mary Janes in 1990. She is survived by her sister, Marie Terese Connor, Ontario; and brother, Denis Arthur Albert Connor, Ontario; she is also survived by her loving daughters, Elizabeth Margaret Macleod (Franklyn George Macleod), Nova Scotia; and Patricia Ann Cowmeadow (Dean Cundey), California. Margaret is also survived by her husband N. Kenneth Miller and his family. Margaret was the beloved grandmother of Aaron Trevor Richard Janes, Alberta; Alexander Warren Roy Janes, Quebec; Patricia Susan Macleod (Taylor Chew), Nova Scotia; Christopher George Macleod, Nova Scotia; Pamela Jane Macleod, Nova Scotia; great-grandmother to Elliana and Adalynn Chew, Nova Scotia. She was a cherished aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews of the Connor Clan in Canada, and relatives throughout the world. Margaret dedicated her life to helping others. She took great pride in delivering meals as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Margaret was still driving meals to many who looked forward to her deliveries through her 89th year. Before Meals on Wheels she spent 12 years volunteering at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 where she welcomed visitors from around the world. Margaret was known for her never-ending kindness and generosity towards her family, friends and strangers. Margaret loved dogs and had a particular fondness for King Charles Spaniel and Bailey her golden retriever. If you met Margaret, you became a friend instantly and you would often be the recipient of delicious lemon loaves and hearty meals to warm your soul. Margaret will be greatly missed by all of the people who were fortunate enough to have met her. Visitation will be held Friday, October 29th, 6-8 p.m. in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, Funeral Service/memorial service will be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, NS B3S 0E1 on October 30th, at 2 p.m., Deacon David Viscount officiating. Interment following the service in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 33 Old Sackville Rd., Lower Sackville, NS B4C 2J5. Proof of Vaccination will be required to attend the visitation, and funeral.
