ISRAEL (Davis), Robyn Eliza

-

March 13, 1972 – October 20, 2021. Robyn died peacefully on October 20th, in Bridgepoint Palliative Care, Toronto, surrounded by family and loved ones. Beloved wife of Jeff, her husband of 16 years. Daughter of Margaret (Richardson) and Gordon Davis. Loving mother of the best kids in the world, Cassidy, and Connor. Loving true sibling of Jill Wheeler (Helmkay), Susie Bartelt (Eady), Julie Rao (Eady), and Sean Helmkay. Robyn will be deeply missed by all. While her loss comes far too early her profound impact will continue to carry us all forward. Robyn was born in the Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax, to Margaret and Gordon Davis. She grew up in the Head of St Margaret’s Bay and attended Tantallon Junior High and Sir John A. Macdonald High School. She graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Shortly after graduating university Robyn moved to Toronto where she would work for 20 years in the group benefits industry with firms Mercer Consulting, Greenshield Canada, and Empire Life. From there she would go on to find her true passion in community involvement. Robyn was married to Jeff at Oceanstone Resort in Indian Harbour, on July 23, 2005. As she raised her two children Robyn became increasingly involved in many local charities and organizations in Leaside. She particularly enjoyed roles with the Bessborough Home and School, Leaside Baseball Association, and Grit Athletics Toronto. And she would never forget her roots as a South Leaside Monday Group member. Robyn’s enthusiasm was infectious, her loyalty to family and friends unwavering, and her involvement to the local community in Leaside was deeply felt. She was not one to simply live in the community but to strive to make an impact and to make things better for all those around her. Simply put, those who knew Robyn were better for it. In her final months Robyn did not complain, she remained focused on where she could still have a positive impact, and as expected she continued to worry more about the well-being of others over herself. She expressed gratitude for a life lived that was truly fulfilling, and happy. Robyn lived her life with grace, dignity, and determination. Her incredibly fierce love for Cassidy, Connor, and Jeff will not be forgotten. She will be waiting for Jeff in Chester, as planned. The family is grateful to the medical team at Sunnybrook Hospital and to the Palliative Care team from the Temmy Latner Centre and Bridgepoint Health. In lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, please consider a donation to Ronald Mcdonald House Charities (www.rmhctoronto. ca) in Robyn’s honour. A visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 24th, in Humphrey Funeral Home, A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Ave. The family will receive friends for a celebration in Robyn’s memory at Donalda Club, 12 Bushbury Dr., on the afternoon of Monday, October 25th.
