DARRAGH (Edgett), Judith Joanne

-

With sorrow, the Darragh and Edgett families announce the unexpected passing of our Judy, on April 22, 2024. A loving and supportive wife, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and true friend to many. Born in Moncton in 1950, Judy was the daughter of the late Fred Edgett and Evelyn (Mckay) Edgett. At age 14, Judy moved to Halifax to join the Buchta dancers on the popular CBC show, Don Messer’s Jubilee. Her sister Jane followed the next year, and they travelled coast to coast with the show’s Centennial Year 1967 Summer Tour. Judy graduated from Miss Murphy’s Business College and held secretarial positions, her favourite term was working for Dr. J. Donald Hatcher, Dalhousie University, Dean of Medicine. Judy was a Ballroom and Latin dance teacher at Edgett Social Dance. Judy’s legacy is one of being generous with her love, her quiet acts of kindness, her beautiful smile,

her love and strong support for her husband Alan, especially in his curling endeavours. Judy always appreciated her sisters’ love, help and comfort with her many heath issues. Judy is survived by her husband Alan, her four sisters, Jane, Georgie, Kathryn, and (baby sis) Christie, and several beautiful nieces and nephews. Judy always had a special place in her heart for animals and wildlife. In Judy’s memory, donations would be welcome at Bide A While Shelter, or Nova Scotia SPCA. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 25 at 2 p.m. at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Condolences may be made to: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
