JOGGINS LEGION HOSTING FISH CAKE SUPPER

The Joggins branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be hosting a fish cake and baked beans takeout supper on Saturday, Nov. 7 beginning at 4 p.m.

This will be a pre-order and takeout supper only.

Cost is $8 and includes fish cakes, homemade baked beans and brown bread.

Pick up is at the legion.

COVID-19 rules apply. Masks must be worn and social distancing rules must be followed when picking up meals.

TRAIL OF TREATS TO MARK HALLOWEEN IN AMHERST

Three Amherst charities are hosting an afternoon of treats for Halloween.

The Cumberland YMCA, Cumberland Public Libraries and Maggie’s Place volunteers will be set up at 15 tables along the route of Amherst’s Scarecrow Stroll on Oct. 31 from 3-6 p.m. to distribute treats to the kiddies.

Anyone wishing to donate money or product to the event can call the community outreach department at the Cumberland YMCA at 902-667-9112.

The event is an alternativ­e for those worried about celebratin­g Halloween the traditiona­l way with door-to-door trick or treating.

NEEDLE FELTING WORKSHOP AT CUMBERLAND COUNTY MUSEUM

The Cumberland County Museum is hosting a needle-felting workshop on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Join instructor Gwen Mader for a beginner-friendly workshop and learn how to make two poppy brooches to wear on a lapel or a hat.

The workshop includes supplies needed to complete the two poppies.

Masks are required when participan­ts are not able to socially-distance themselves.

The workshop is part of the museum’s Heritage Craft Workshop Series and is supported by the John and Judy Bragg Foundation.

Cost is $28.60 per person.
