RESTAURANT BREAK-IN
Feb. 11 RCMP file: 2017-6779 On Feb. 11, the owner of the MTL – MontREALfood restaurant on Kirschner Road reported a break in to his business overnight. The suspect(s) pried open the rear door and disabled the alarm system, causing damage to other electronics in the process. The office was in complete disorder with a cabinet pried open and cash taken. Two front cash tills also were destroyed and emptied. THEFT FROM STORAGE CONTAINER
Feb. 14 RCMP file: 2017-7274 Sometime during the early hours of Feb. 14, locks were cut on a storage container situated on the 600 block of KLO Road. Employees found the doors wide open with the locks and contents gone. The storage unit was full of at least $10,000 worth of construction tools including: three Milwaukee heavy duty Sawzalls; drywall stilts; blue Hepa vacuum; two Makita impact and drill sets with batteries and a charger; Dx450 Hilti gun; Occidental shoulder harness tool belt; two commercial heaters and two commercial fans THEFT OF GENERATORS
Feb. 9 RCMP file: 2017-6415 An employee with the District of Peachland contacted RCMP on Feb. 9 after discovering two generators had been stolen from the south end of Renfrew Road. The generators were chained to temporary traffic lights that were installed after a recent landslide. Both generators are red Honda U2000i models — serial numbers: EAAJ1242682 and EAAJ2552967. Feb. 12 RCMP file: 2017-7066 On Feb. 12, just after 10 p.m., a poorly running brown Dodge Ram pickup pulled into a complex on Carrington Road in West Kelowna. The driver exited when a newer white Nissan Titan pulled in. The driver then threw a flaming rag into the back of the Dodge, entered the Titan and drove away. The fire was extinguished by the fire department.The driver’s side door lock and ignition had been punched out of the Ram, which had been stolen from Castlegar. THEFTS FROM VEHICLE
Feb. 13-14 RCMP files: 2017-7170, 2017-7352 Thefts from vehicles on Berneau Court in Lake Country were reported Feb. 13 and 14. In the first theft, a black 2016 GMC Yukon was left unlocked with a wallet inside. All of the owner’s credit cards were taken with one of the cards used at 7 a.m. at the local 7-Eleven. In the second theft, a vehicle was entered while parked in a driveway. It may have been left unlocked. Items taken included a hunting knife, old army knife, two black duffle bags with gym gear and a red and white backpack. The complainant saw a suspicious lifted black pickup about 6:30 p.m.
