• Learn to grow a lush garden with less water as Friends of the Westbank Library present Darlene Romanko, bachelor of education, lifetime and master gardener who will speak about xeriscapin­g at 6:30 p.m. This is a free, drop-in program at the Westbank library at No. 31, 2484 Main St.

• B.C. Transit hosts an open house from noon to 3 p.m. at 4th Street Place at 4475 4th St. in Peachland as part of the Central Okanagan Transit Future Action Plan. The open house will present some of the proposed transit service changes in the region to the public for feedback and comment. • Kids five to 12 years old can build amazing creations at Lego Builders from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Westbank Library, No. 31, 2484 Main St. This is a free, dropin event. Lego Builders meets the third Wednesday of every month.

• Colour your stress away when the Westside Creative Colouring Connection meets at 5:30 p.m. at L’Oven Farm Fresh Food at No. 8, 2565 Main St. in West Kelowna. Admission is $5 and includes colouring pages and pens.

• Toddler Time from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. at the Westbank Library at 31 - 2484 Main St. Free parent-participat­ion program for children 18 months to three years and their caregivers featuring songs, action rhymes and stories. No registrati­on required.

• Visit the hoodoos along Powers Creek in Glen Canyon Regional Park during a 90minute walk with a regional parks interprete­r. Suitable for all ages including families with young children. Meet at the Aberdeen Road entrance at 1 p.m. Participan­ts should dress for the conditions and bring along anti-slip or traction devices. • Death Café with Sue Berlie, Alison Moore and Ingrid Tourigny from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bliss Bakery, 4200 Beach Ave. Death Cafés are an opportunit­y to have an honest and respectful conversati­on about death in a group-directed setting with no judgements. • Parent Child Mother Goose from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Westbank library at 31 - 2484 Main St. in the Westridge Mall. The Okanagan Regional Library and the Clubhouse Childcare Centre offer a two-hour oral literacy program that teaches parents fun ways to interact with their child aged birth to four years. This free, drop-in program is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Developmen­t. Snack time and play time included in each session.

• Family Playtime at the Webber Road Community Centre at 2829 Inverness Rd. from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children newborn to five years with a parent or caregiver. Drop in for social interactio­n with other parents, playtime for children and enjoy lunch together. Activities may include a craft, gym time and circle time with stories and songs. Free. • Pirate Storytime at the Westbank Library at No. 31, 2484 Main St. from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Bring the family and your favourite pirate lingo for this free, drop-in family storytime.

• West Kelowna Bluegrass Jam from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Lakeview Heights Community Centre at 860 Anders Rd. Come out to play your acoustic instrument or enjoy listening to the music. Cost is $5 and includes coffee, tea and goodies. Bring your personal cup for coffee. The jam goes the third Saturday of each month.

• Baptist Housing is sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Day Senior’s Luncheon the Westside Seniors Centre at 3661 Old Okanagan Highway. All seniors are welcome. Lunch includes Guinness glazed baked ham, champ potato, sauté cabbage, crusty bread and mini cupcakes Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch is served at noon. Entertainm­ent by Vic Ukrainetz. • The Westbank Lions Club hosts its 16th annual Pickerel Dinner at the Westbank Lions Community Hall at 2466 Main St. Tickets are $20 and include a chance for door prizes. Buy tickets at Home Hardware, from Lions Club members or at the Westbank Lions Community Hall from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday.

• SMART (Self-Management And Recovery Training) Recovery meeting 7 p.m. at the Westbank Lions Community Hall. SMART Recovery’s four-point program helps people recover from all types of addictive behaviours, including alcoholism, drug abuse, substance abuse, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, gambling addiction, cocaine addiction and addiction to other substances and activities. Meetings are free, confidenti­al and last for about an hour.

• Kids eight to 12 years old can create a duct-tape pencil case from 3 p.m,. to 4 p.m. at the Westbank library at No. 31, 2484 Main St. This simple introducti­on to duct tape crafting is a free program; however, participan­ts must register in advance at the library, by calling 250768-4369 or online at orl.bc.ca.

• Babytime from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. at the Westbank Library at 31-2484 Main St. Enjoy bonding with your baby through songs, rhymes, tickles and circle time. For ages newborn to 18 months. Free. No registrati­on required.

• Peachland’s Canada 150 Historic Scavenger hunt begins. The free event for all abilities runs from Tuesday to Friday at the Peachland Historic School and surroundin­g grounds at 5684 Beach Avenue. To participat­e, pick up a program at the Peachland Visitor Centre, Peachland Boys and Girls Club, Peachland Art Gallery or the Peachland Community Centre. Programs can also be dropped off that these locations. Prizes will be drawn at the Canada 150 Opening Ceremony Celebratio­n Friday at the Peachland Historic School and Cousins Park between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
