Okanagan swimmers have been busy lately

The combined KWIC swim club attended the recent 3A Championsh­ips and Senior Open Championsh­ips, posting 117 best times at the 3A meet and 15 at Seniors.

Swimmers who swam to 100 per cent best times were:

Liam Collie: bronze in the 800 free, finals in all his events — 200IM, back, free and fly, 400 IM & free and 200 back. He also dropped 10 seconds in his 400 free, 11 in 200 free, 25 in 400 IM and 41 in 800 free.

Erin Epp: silver in 200 breast and bronze in 200 IM, made finals in 100 breast, 400 IM (dropped 33 seconds) and 50 free.

Paige Foster: swam an age group up, making the finals in 100 & 200 breast.

Flyn Huber: dropped 10 seconds in his 200 IM.

Axana Merckx: silver in 200 back and bronze in 200 breast (also placed second at seniors) and made finals in 200 IM, 200 free, 100 back and 400 IM.

Jasper Stone: made finals in 100 and 200 breast and swam to four best times at the seniors.

Pierson Piche: dropped 84 seconds in his 1,500 free and 12 seconds in 400 IM, made finals in 200 IM, back and free, 100 back, 400 free and IM.

Those who swam to one short of 100 per cent best times were Dylan DaSilva (finals in 200 fly and back), Molly Hill (finals in 100 fly and back, 200 fly and back and 400 IM), Abigail Jerome (dropped 11 seconds in her 100 back, made finals in 100 free and fly and 50 free) and Rachel McInnes (made finals in 100 fly, free and back as well as 50 free.

Other making finals were Andrea Kraetzer (100 and 200 breast and 50 free), Matthew MacDonald (100 back and fly), Cameron McInnes (50 free), Georgia Pengilly (200 back and 50 free) and Ella Rolleston (200 breast and 400 IM).

Emily Epp had strong swims, while Marc Toyata swam to best times at seniors along with Gabriella Hanvold and Christina Russo swam to a first-place finish in 50 fly.

Lightning post best times at H2O jamboree

Liquid Lightning Swim Club sent 15 swimmers to the recent jamboree at H2O, who posted 52 best times.

Young LLSC members to swim 100 per cent best times were Annika James, Brayden Mandau, Jordan Meyer, Isaac Quadri, Maura Guidi (12 seconds off her 200 IM and eight off her 100 free).

Emma Lecompte dropped nine seconds in her 25 fly, Miranda Mandau dropped seven seconds in her 100 free and 21 in her 50 breast, while Noella Quadri dropped seven in her 50 breast, 11 in her 50 fly and 15 in her 200 IM.

Erik Wheeler dropped eight seconds in his 200 IM and 10 in his 100 back, while brother Liam Wheeler dropped seven seconds in his 50 back, 15 in his 100 back, 20 in the 100 free and 21 in the 200 IM.

Swimmers posting one shy of 100 per cent best times were Ava Mailey and Jackson Bartlett (39 seconds off his 50 breast).

It was the first jamboree for Gage Meyer and Charlize Hamilton, while Kyla Johnson dropped seven seconds in her 100 back and nine in her 200 IM.
