- By STEVE MacNAULL

Coldwell Banker Kelowna real estate agent Tanis Read is the new president of the 1,000-member Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board.

The board represents and supports real estate agents.

Read sells real estate in partnership with fellow Coldwell Banker agent Trish Cenci.

Together, they are branded T&T Real Estate and are ranked the fifth best Coldwell Banker small team in Canada based on 2016 sales volume.

T&T has also won the Coldwell Banker International President Circle Team Award and Ultimate Service Awards.

While the team specializes in selling in the Quail Ridge golf community and UBC Okanagan areas, it also sells throughout Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland and Vernon.

Read heads a 12-person board, whose other members are:

— past president: Anthony Bastiaanssen, Re/Max Kelowna;

— vice-president: Marv Beer, Royal LePage Salmon Arm;

— Sheryl Lobsinger, Re/Max Kelowna;

— Brent Pay, Century 21 Kelowna;

— Joe Pearson, Re/Max Vernon;

— Michael Loewen, Royal LePage Kelowna;

— Cliff Shillington, Re/Max Kelowna;

— Kim Heizmann, Century 21 Vernon;

— Kent Jorgenson, Re/Max Kelowna;

— Erin Leek, Royal LePage Salmon Arm; and

The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board also compiles all the Multiple Listing Service statistics for the region, with breakdowns for the Central and North Okanagan and Shuswap/Revelstoke. Figures for March for the Central Okanagan show 637 properties of all kinds — residential, farm, land, business and commercial — changed hands last month.

The total value of all sales was $310.3 million.
