Kelowna Karate & Fitness brings home 65 medals from provincials

-

Kelowna Karate & Fitness Inc. sent 34 athletes to the ProvincialJKA-BC Karate Championships in Chilliwack earlier this month and won 20 gold, 19 silver and 26 bronze medals for a total of 65 medals!Sensei Paul Atkin, owner and head instructor of Kelowna Karate & Fitness Inc., was the winner of the elusive Sakurai Shihan Award ontop of his gold medals in Kumite-free sparring and in Kata.

“I’m most proud that it was a positive experience for everyone, and seeing that the students that questioned their ability got the accolades they deserved,”said Atkin. “It's a big boost for them moving forward as a Karate-Ka.

My hopes are our athletes experiences from provincials give confidence to the next group willing to challenge competition.

The hardest part sometimes can seem like the simplest thing, like showing up time and time again.” For further information about Kelowna Karate & Fitness Inc. go to www.kelowna karate.ca or email info@kelowna karate.ca
