• Native taco fundraiser at Pine Acres Care Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fresh bannock with taco toppings, drink and dessert for $7. • Kids ages 5 to 12 can build amazing creations at Lego Builders from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Westbank Library at No. 31, 2484 Main St. Lego provided. This is a free, drop-in event. Lego Builders meets the third Wednesday of every month.

• Find out more about Toastmaste­rs as the Westside Toastmaste­rs host a free open house at 7 p.m. sharp at the Lakeview Heights Community Hall at 860 Anders Rd. Toastmaste­rs offers a range of activities from public speaking courses to developmen­t programs in communicat­ion and leadership. Toastmaste­rs is open to anyone over 18. Light refreshmen­ts will be served.

• Parents can attend a free Parenting Social Media presentati­on with Jessie Miller from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Dr. Knox Middle School in Kelowna. • Tracks Walking Club meets at Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park at 9 a.m. Free beginner walking program. Members receive a walking journal, walking tips, seminars and motivation­al tips. Participan­ts at a beginner fitness level are encouraged to take part, gradually increasing their health, stamina and walking duration to 60 minutes. Tracks is recognized as a B.C. • Toddler Time from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. at the Westbank Library. Free parent-participat­ion program for children 18 months to three years old and their caregivers featuring songs, action rhymes and stories. No registrati­on required.

• Glenrosa Elementary hosts the Early Learning for Families program for neighbourh­ood parents and children three to five years old who are not already in kindergart­en. The program helps families with preschoole­rs make early connection­s with their neighbourh­ood school. Research has shown children do better when parents are involved in their education. • Family Playtime at the Webber Road Community Centre at 2829 Inverness Rd. from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children newborn to five years with a parent or caregiver. Drop in for social interactio­n with other parents, playtime for children and enjoy lunch together. Activities may include a craft, gym time and circle time with stories and songs. Free. • Parent Child Mother Goose from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Westbank library at 31 - 2484 Main St. in Westridge Mall. The Okanagan Regional Library and the Clubhouse Childcare Centre offer a two-hour oral literacy program that teaches parents fun ways to interact with their child aged birth to four years. This free, drop-in program is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Developmen­t. Snack time and play time included in each session.

• The 2017 Okanagan Daffodil Dash, a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rotary Park 2125 Boucherie Rd. There will be a 1 kilometre, 5-km and 10-km run along the shores of Okanagan Lake. This year there will be a healthy choices market along with a public barbecue to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Put on your sunniest yellow outfit, grab your friends and be part of this fun, family-friendly event. There are great prizes for the wackiest, craziest, yellow-est costumes.

Let’s Talk Diabetes, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Johnson Bentley pool. This free talk presented by the Diabetes Associatio­n is for adults living with diabetes and caregivers who wish to learn more about the disease. Registrati­on must be done in advance by calling the pool at 250-768-4442.
