IS claims Baghdad bomb that kills 4
BAGHDAD — The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a bombing that targeted a police station in Baghdad’s centre Friday night, and Iraqi officials said the blast killed four people and wounded eight.
The attack was carried out by a suicide car bomber, according to police and hospital officials.
The explosion targeted an entrance to the traffic police station in Baghdad’s Karrada neighbourhood.
The attack comes as Iraqi forces struggle to push back Islamic State group militants in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, the last pocket of significant urban territory the group holds in Iraq.
