GolfBC Championship opens registration for Pro-Am event
The upcoming GolfBC Championship at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf and Country Club in Kelowna is now accepting team entries for the Pro-Am Tournament to be played on Tuesday, June 13.
This opportunity is open to amateur players who enter a team of three to be paired with a professional from the Mackenzie Tour, PGA Tour Canada. Golfers will have the chance to play the golf course conditioned for the pros.
“This is a great experience for the amateurs as they play with a rising star in the world of golf,” tournament director Hugh Vassos said in a news release. “They learn a lot about how to play the game from young professionals trying to work their way onto the PGA Tour.”
The Pro-Am includes pre- and post-tournament meal functions, great tee gifts and prizes, and invitations to the Wine around the Okanagan Player Pairings Reception at the Gallagher’s Canyon clubhouse on the evening of Monday, June 12, where the amateurs will be introduced to their professional.
“Opportunities like this do not come along often and many participants have developed a real friendship with players currently playing in tournaments at the highest level,” Vassos said. “Here is a chance for amateurs in the Okanagan to rub shoulders with the pros and pick up a tip or two to help improve their own game.”
There are a limited number of team openings. For more information on how to enter a team in the Pro-Am, go to the tournament website at golfbcchampionship.com.
