Seniors’ yoga Gentle yoga for people 50 and older. Location: Parkinson Activity Centre, 1700 Parkinson Way. Time: 11 a.m. Seniors songsters Seniors sing Friday afternoons at care homes around Kelowna and Lake Country. To register, call Sharon, 250-717-5690. Okanagan Eats Show Sip, nibble and shop your way through a wide variety of food and drink vendors at the Kelowna Curling Club. The show goes from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission, which include two tokens, is $15/day $25/weekend for adults; $5/day $10/weekend for youth seven to 15; and free for children under six. Additional tokens cost 75 cents.

SATURDAY

Friends of the Gardens Huge selections of flowering and garden plants for sale. Location: Summerland Ornament Gardens, Research and Developmen­t Centre, 4200 Highway 97 South (across from Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park). Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Pickleball Paddles provided. Meet at the outdoor courts at Parkinson Recreation Centre. Time: 1-3 p.m. Bingo Kelowna Senior Citizens Society bingo at the Richter seniors’ centre. Lunch, coffee, tea available. Location: 1353 Richter St. Time: noon. FireSmart Family Day Fun and educationa­l activities for the family take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Kelowna fire hall, 3651 Old Okanagan Highway. Kids can learn to stop, drop and roll, visit with Sparky the Fire Dog, check out the fire trucks and equipment, a bouncy house and more. Free hotdogs and refreshmen­ts will be offered. Play On Hockey Night in Canada Play On road hockey tournament takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in front of Prospera Place.

Healthy Kids Day Activities for kids, informatio­n for parents. Location: YMCA, 375 Hartman Rd. Time: noon to 4 p.m. Go Fish Regional District of Central Okanagan kids fishing program begins at Shannon Lake Regional Park. It’s already going on weekends at the Hall Road pond in Mission Creek Regional Park. Monkey time Sevanah’s Monkey Crew invites families to support brain cancer awareness with fun activities on from 2 to 4 p.m. at Mission Creek Regional Park. Activities include bounce house, face painting by donation, games and party favours, free prize draw. A short walk will take place at 3 p.m. Sevanah was a six-year-old girl who lost her life to Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. She loved her collection of stuffed monkeys. Children are invited to bring their favourite stuffie.
