Wednesday, May 17
• Kids ages five to 12 years old can build amazing creations at Lego Builders from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Westbank Library at No. 31, 2484 Main St. Lego provided. This is a free, drop-in event. Lego Builders meets the third Wednesday of every month.
• Westside Toastmasters meet at 7 p.m. sharp at the Lakeview Heights Community Hall at 860 Anders Rd. Toastmasters offers a range of activities from public speaking courses to development programs in communication and leadership.Toastmasters is open to anyone over 18.
Thursday, May 18
• Tracks Walking Club meets at Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park at 9 a.m. Free beginner walking program. Members receive a walking journal, walking tips, seminars and motivational tips. Participants at a beginner fitness level are encouraged to take part gradually increasing their health, stamina and walking duration to 60 minutes. Tracks is recognized as a B.C. • The Writers’ Group meets from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westbank Library at No 31, 2484 Main St. If you are interested in selfpublishing a book, join them in Westbank Library. No registration required. For more information, call the library at 250-768-4369 or Blair at 250-448-1959.
• Okanagan Food Truck Fest outside the Westbank Lions Community Hall from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free admission. Along with the food trucks there will be a live band, kids zone, balloon twister, face painter and shopping.
• Go Batty in Peachland from 7 to 9:30 p.m. as part of the Meadowlark Nature Festival. Biologist Tanya Luszcz will make a presentation on bat species, habitat and bat houses while walking along the Bat House Interpretive Trail created by the Bat Education, Ecological Protection Society in Peachland. This is an easy 1 km walking trail with bat houses and interpretive signage at five stations. View the newly designed Legends of the Lake Interpretive Centre and count the bats as they leave the school for their nightly foraging. This event costs $5 per person. Friday, May 19
• Family Playtime at the Webber Road Community Centre at 2829 Inverness Rd. from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children newborn to five years with a parent or caregiver. Drop in for social interaction with other parents, playtime for children and enjoy lunch together. Activities may include a craft, gym time and circle time with stories and songs. Free. • Drop-In Gym for kids eight to 12 years in the George Pringle Elementary School gym, 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Drop in costs $2 or buy a book of 10 tickets for $18. Equipment is provided. Gym shoes must be worn. For more information, call West Kelowna recreation at 250-797-8800.
Saturday, May 20
West Kelowna Bluegrass Jam from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Lakeview Heights Community Centre at 860 Anders Rd. Come out to play your acoustic instrument or enjoy listening to the music. Cost is $5 and includes coffee, tea and goodies. Bring your personal cup for coffee. The jam goes the third Saturday of each month.
• Go Fish at Shannon Lake Regional Park. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The lake is stocked with trout, ready and waiting to be caught. Freshwater Fisheries Society and volunteers from the Peachland Sportsmen’s Association will be on hand to help new fishers.This program is for ages 15 and under, with a one fish per day limit. No fishing license is required for B.C. children 15 and under. A limited number of rods, reels and bait will be available each weekend for youngsters to use.
• Take a two-to three-hour interpretive hike in Rose Valley Regional Park. Hikers will set out from the kiosk at the north parking area along Westlake Road near Rose Valley Pond at 9 a.m. This hike is rated more difficult hike which involves steep and uneven trails. Free. • Spring Extravaganza Shopping 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Westbank Lions Community Centre at 2466 Main St. Crafters. Vendors, live entertainment, kids zone and a homemade lunch menu. Lots of door prizes and a big raffle prize. Admission is free. Kids zone costs $5 and includes all crafts and interactive activities.
Sunday, May 21
• Canada 150 Pancake Breakfast at the 50 Plus Centre 5672 Beach Ave. in Peachland from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

• Twentieth annual Peachland World of Wheels Show and Shine from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A large selection of cars, trucks, antique boats and other vehicles will be lined up on both sides of Beach Avenue as well as set up in Heritage Park and neighbouring Cousins Park. There will be lots of food vendors, live entertainment and a bouncy castle for the kids. Shuttle bus will be available from Peachland Centre Mall. Rain or shine.
Monday, May 22
• The Westbank Seventh Day Adventist church holds its third annual Family Fun Day and yard sale at 3155 Glenrosa Rd. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be bouncy castles, a pancake breakfast, woodworking and crafts, games, hotdogs and community yard sale. Book your yard sale table by calling 250-718-0041.
• Self-Management And Recovery Training Recovery meeting 7 p.m. at the Westbank Lions Community Hall. SMART Recovery's four-point program helps people recover from all types of addictive behaviours, including alcoholism, drug abuse, substance abuse, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, gambling addiction, cocaine addiction and addiction to other substances and activities. Meetings are free, confidential and last for about an hour.
