Cherryvill­e Days back for 54th year

The 54th annual Cherryvill­e Days is back for a weekend of fun next week.

The two-day event will kick off on Saturday, June 3, with a pancake breakfast at Cherryvill­e Community Hall, followed by a barbeque cooking competitio­n at Tea Garden.

“It's a good weekend for everyone to get back together again and have a good time with family and friends,” said Karyn Kelly Kyciek, chair of the event. “We're really excited to put it on, and we're hoping the weather cooperates with us.”

The Cherryvill­e Days parade will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., leaving from the Cherryvill­e Emporium.

Other activities on Saturday include a baking contest, a pet show, a car show and Valhalla helicopter rides.

An adult dance will be held at Cherryvill­e Community Hall at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $15 and are available at Cherryvill­e Emporium, Frank's General Store and Jitter Beans Coffee House in Lumby.

Sunday will be another full day of activities, including a horseshoe tournament, a treasure hunt and family games.

Cherryvill­e Days will end with a community dinner at Tea Garden on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the Tea Garden on June 3 or at the horseshoe tournament Sunday morning.

Cherryvill­e Days is a fundraiser for the Cherryvill­e Community Club, which manages and maintains the community facilities, Cherryvill­e Community Hall and Hanson Park.
