Medal-filled meet for LLSC

The Liquid Lightning Swim Club sent 16 members to Kamloops, and they came home with 16 medals, 64 best times and three new club records.

Jacklyn Pengilly dropped 8 seconds in her 200 back and 2 seconds in her 100 back to become the newest 2A provincial qualifier, which will be taking place mid June in Richmond.

Ava Toyata swam to a silver medal in 100 free, taking off two seconds to give her, her 3rd 3A time to qualify for her the 3A provincial­s. Toyata also won bronze in the 100 breast and 50 free, was 4th in 50 breast, 6th in the 200 IM and 200 breast and dropped 11 seconds in her 100 back.

Pierson Piche swam to two club records in the 100 free and 200 breast; swam to 4 golds in the 200 free, 200 IM, 200 back and 50 back; and won silver in the 200 breast, 100 free and 50 fly.

Liam Collie swam to two silver medals, in the 200 back and 200 fly; two bronzes, in 50 breast and 100 fly; and two fourth-place finishes in the 50 back and 200 IM.

Nathaniel Hees swam to a silver medal in the 200 fly and a new club record in the same event as well as two fifth-place finishes in the 100 and 200 back and eighth in the 200 free.

Kassidie Cornell swam to a bronze in 50 breast and a sixth-place finishes in the 200 breast.

Annika James and Breagh Bridge both swam to 100 per cent best times and Kaleigh Reese swam to seven best times, while Jadeyn Wiebe dropped seven seconds in the 100 breast and Alex Strobel took off seven seconds in her 400IM.

Other strong swims were had by Avery Simpson, Victoria Koehle, Madison Seeley, Enrica Guidi and Breanna James.

Upcoming swim meets for the LLSC is in Rich-mond, June 16-18, for Swim BC 2A provincial­s and then July 6-9 for Swim BC 3A provincial­s.
