RCMP seek robber with gun

-

On June 11, shortly after 6:20 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP received a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Mac’s Convenience store at 2147 Richter St.

Police have determined the masked male suspect entered the store, brandished a silver pistol and demanded cash. The suspect fled the store, on foot, with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“General duty officers responded to the scene of the robbery,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “They were supported in their search by a Kelowna RCMP Police dog services canine unit.”

“Officers were unable to locate their suspect, however the police service dog tracked down items believed to be related to the robbery,” added O’Donaghey.

“Those items have been seized and remain part of the ongoing police investigation.”

The lone employee, inside the store during the robbery, was not injured.

At the time of the alleged robbery, the suspect was seen wearing a pair of grey track pants, a grey zippered DC hoodie and a pair of grey and brown light weight hiking shoes.
