West Kelowna now has a cab company as WestCabs opened just over three weeks ago to serve the Central Okanagan. WestCabs offers a luxury taxi Áeet at the price of a regular cab.

The company’s Áeet has over 12 vehicles including Mercedes, BMWs and Lexus, with two wheelchair accessible cabs. The entire Áeet offers free WiFi in its vehicles. The opening of WestCabs will boost the economy and tourism in in West Kelowna, said Devinder Virk, marketing manager for WestCabs.

Before opening, the company did an analysis with local resorts and found tourism was suffering because of poor transportation.

Previously, when people ordered a cab, they would have to wait for it to come from Kelowna, said Kirk with people waiting a minimum 30 minutes and sometimes an hour for a cab to come, he said. In winter, cabs could be even harder to get.

Along with luxury sedans, WestCabs offers 4x4 sport utility vehicles to help cope with the winter weather.

WestCabs connects West Kelowna and Peachland to the airport with reliable service.

So far response has been good with those who have already discovered WestCabs giving them repeat business. WestCabs’ dispatch is open 24/7. You can reach WestCabs at 778-754-8888, toll free at 1-855-829-8294, or by e-mail at dispatch@ westkelownataxi.com.
