One Water Street
It’s a presentation centre, not a sales centre.
The building at 1001 Manhattan Dr. will have display suites for the nearby proposed One Water Street two-highrise complex and oodles of information, starting Aug. 31.
However, the 403 condominiums haven’t been priced and no units will be sold yet.
Kelowna city council didn’t want to give permission for a sales centre because One hasn’t been given the official go ahead yet.
The permission for both could come Aug. 29 when city council next considers the project.
North American Development Group and Kerkhoff Construction plan to build two towers of 29 and 36 storeys, which would make them the tallest buildings in the city and the tallest structures between Vancouver and Calgary.
Since a public open house in June, the developers slimmed designs for the highrises to maximize views of Okanagan Lake and Know Mountain for those in surrounding neighbourhoods.
The presentation centre was previously used by 1151 Sunset Drive.
That 21-storey tower is well under construction by Kerkhoff.
When the presentation centre opens Aug. 31 it will operate Mondays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
