A bumper crop of new developmen­ts, buildings and renovation­s are finalists for the ninth annual Thompson Okanagan Kootenay Commerical Building Awards.

The awards celebrate the best in commercial and industrial buildings completed in the region prior to July 31 this year.

Finalists from Penticton are Ashley Homestore, Bright From the Start Child Care, 8th Generation wine ship, Penticton Lakeside Resort addition and Unit Electric.

Vernon finalists are The Heights, SQM Research Centre, BCAA and Underwood Ashton.

Lakeview Village Shopping Centre in West Kelowna is a finalist, as is Fitzpatric­k Winery in Peachland and Restoratio­n Lands in Coldstream.

The finalists from the South Okanagan are the Osoyoos Fire Hall and Osoyoos Indian Band administra­tion building.

Most of the finalists are in Kelowna: Accelerate Okanagan, Airport Village Shopping Centre, BMID Ultraviole­t, Central Green, Douglas Lane, Epic CitiHomes, Foundry Kelowna, Gateway Plaza, Houle Electric, Kelly O’Bryan’s addition, Kelowna Fruit Stand, Kelowna Police Services, Manors at Mountainvi­ew, Okanagan Centre for Innovation, Okanagan Mission Secondary School addition, Sandher Fruit Packers and Telus.

Winners will be announced at the awards gala Sept. 28 at Manteo Resort.
