ARSON Sept. 14 RCMP file: 2017-55783 Kelowna RCMP was contacted by the Kelowna Fire Department at 4:04 a.m. on Sept. 14 about a suspicious fire behind the Mediterran­ean Market at 1570 Gordon Dr. The fire started in a stack of pallets behind the building and quickly spread to an adjacent duplex. The fire was extinguish­ed with no injuries to the residents. A man on a bicycle was seen in the area before the fire and police are interested in speaking with him. THEFT FROM TRUCK

Sept. 14 RCMP file: 2017-55810 On Sept. 14, a man contacted Kelowna RCMP from a hotel in the 2600 block of Highway 97 N. Sometime between 9 p.m. the evening before and 8 a.m. that morning, $10,000 worth of commercial equipment had been stolen from the box of his truck. The equipment had been locked in the box of the grey 2014 Ford F-150 under a folding hard cover that had been picked open. The truck had been backed in near the fence of a neighbouri­ng car sales lot and the grass was worn down where the thieves had moved the very heavy objects. Be on the lookout for a big industrial vacuum cleaner, a floor grinder/polisher and Diamond Tooling accessorie­s. Several items with clothing and accessory items with Husqvarna logos on them were taken including XL and XXL blue T-shirts, grey and blue tuques and grey and blue baseball hats. BREAK AND ENTER TO VAPE STORE Aug. 13 RCMP file: 2017-47796 At 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, an audible alarm was set off at a Vape Store in the 2200 block of Louie Drive in West Kelowna. The front door of the business was entered after two suspects punched out the door lock. A male and female wearing black clothing entered, grabbed the cash drawer and cleared the bottom display of e-cigarettes, and were gone in less than 30 seconds. Approximat­ely $3,000 worth of vape product and an identified amount of cash were stolen. A video can be viewed at youtube.com/user/crimestopp­ersnet THEFT OF TRAVEL TRAILER DATE: Sept. 16 RCMP file: 2017-56335 There seems to be a rash of thefts of new travel trailers. On Sept. 13, two new trailers were stolen from a West Kelowna trailer business, and on Sept. 16, thieves hit another West Kelowna business. A gated area of a business on the 2500 block of Ross Road had its lock cut and a three-week-old $40,000 trailer pulled out of the yard. The trailer is a 2018 Grand Design travel trailer bearing B.C. licence plate number UPY08G and VIN 573TE272XJ­5500214. B&E TO GATED COMPOUND Sept. 17 RCMP file: 2017-56463 At 6 a.m. on Sept. 17, the owner of a constructi­on compound on Okanagan Centre Road West in Lake Country arrived through the rear entrance of the property to discover another vehicle in the compound. The intruders took flight and rammed through the front compound gate, forcing it off its hinges. The fleeing truck left some of its red paint on the gate and left behind broken pieces of a turn signal light lens.
