PRIME RIB THIEF
Aug. 7 RCMP files: 2017-46445 and 2017-49477 Around 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 7, a man picked out two prime rib roasts from a grocery store on the 1800 block of Cooper Road in Kelowna and exited the store. When approached by the loss prevention officer, who identified himself as such, the man fled toward Highway 97 by foot. On Aug. 19, the same male stole more prime rib from the store’s West Kelowna location, again running from the loss prevention officer. This person of interest is described as being a Caucasian male in his mid 30’s, 6’2” tall with a medium build, a goatee, white baseball cap, dark grey T-shirt and light grey shorts. Sept. 24 RCMP file: 2017-58094 West Kelowna RCMP members were contacted on Sept. 24 regarding a stolen boat and trailer. A Titan inflatable boat with a 9.9-horsepower MerCruiser outboard and EZ loader trailer had last been seen in the storage area at a condo complex on the 3800 block of Brown Road at 2 p.m. the previous day, secured with a hitch lock. The Titan inflatable’s HIN is HUSSI01PK506 and the EZ Loader trailer has B.C. licence plate numberWAW45Y.TheMerCruisermotor’sserialnumbers are 03656346 and 0R068841. SHOPLIFTER
Sept. 27 RCMP file: 2017-58742 The loss prevention officer at a store in the 3000 block of Louie Drive in West Kelowna contacted RCMP at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 27 to report a theft that had just occurred from the electronics department. Members patrolled the area, but were unsuccessful at locating the suspect who had taken the $170 item. RCMP would like help to identify this person of interest. THEFT OF VEHICLE / HIT AND RUN
Sept. 23 RCMP files: 2017-57965 and 2017-57876 During the evening of Sept. 23, a black 2012 Chrysler 300 with Alberta licence plate number BWK4608 was stolen from a yard on the 11600 block of Rogers Road in Lake Country.
At 10:12 p.m., a two-vehicle collision was reported involving the stolen vehicle on Woodsdale Road at Highway 97. RCMP arrived to find the Chrysler in the ditch with the occupants gone.
Witnesses reported the vehicle had been driven erratically, jumping a cement traffic barrier in a parking lot and then driving down the wrong side of the highway before t-boning an approaching vehicle at the Highway 97/Woodsdale Road intersection. Fortunately the passengers in the other vehicle were not seriously injured.
The occupants of the stolen 300 are believed to be three males and one female, in their late teens or early 20s, who fled toward Turtle Bay Pub. CRIME: THEFT OF TRUCK
Sept. 21 RCMP file: 2017-57379 The owner of a truck contacted Lake Country RCMP Sept. 21 to report that sometime overnight the truck went missing from a property on the 11100 block of Reiswig Road. The missing truck is a grey 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck with B.C. licence plate number KW6714.
The truck was discovered days later near Oyama Lake Road. It had been trashed and was flipped on its side.
