Coyotes host Dinos this weekend

-

The leaves are falling and there’s a chill in the air, but the Coyotes aren’t done playing baseball. Okanagan College hosts the University of Calgary Dinos over the Thanksgiving weekend for a three-game set. The Dinos went 5-17 this season and 0-4 in the 2017 CCBC Championship tournament. “The Dinos have a couple of dangerous hitters in Cam Williams and Mike Zaunnuto that have hurt us before. Those will be some of their guys we will key on,” said Coyotes head coach Geoff White.

The Coyotes took 3-of-4 games from the Dinos this season, outscoring them 41-15 along the way.

On the mound the Coyotes will feature senior RHP Cole Parusinni (Port Coquitlam), junior RHP Trevor Brigden (Toronto) and freshman RHP Chris Wyslobocki (Toronto).

“Cole has been a staple in our rotation for awhile now, and has been consistent and likes to compete. Brigden was our closer last year and was outstanding — we are looking at moving him to the rotation for 2018. Wyslobocki is a new face that has made an impression early, showing three pitches, good tempo, and competes. These are just a few of our pitching staff that has shown flashes of being tough,” said White.

The weekend games are set for Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission to Sunday’s game is by bringing a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the Kelowna Food Bank.
