Spreading Christmas cheer to kids around world

-

The Penninga children — from left, Mira, 12, Nate, 8, and Weston, 10 — hold gift-filled shoeboxes Monday at Kelowna Gospel Fellowship Church. The shoeboxes, being collected by Operation Christmas Child, are filled with Items that can brighten a child’s life in a developing country — small toys, personal hygiene items and school supplies. The local goal of Operation Christmas Child is to send at least 5,000 shoeboxes to countries in Africa, Central America and South America. Gift-filled shoeboxes can be dropped off this week at the church, located at 3714 Gordon Dr., between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
