Keep an eye on the government

Dear editor: ICBC was created by an NDP government and both Liberal governments under Gordon Campbell and Christy Clark stripped ICBC savings to fund their other government projects.

The same Liberals have done the same to BC Hydro to a tune of about $70 billion. Please don’t blame ICBC or the NDP for this — blame the Liberals. Maybe if we had a proportional voting system, governments would not be able to do this fancy book keeping. Put the blame where it belongs.

Remember also, you are only required to purchase the basic insurance from ICBC and may buy all the rest — comprehensive, collision, etc. ‚ from your choice of private insurance.

We have to keep an eye on government’s behaviour and their fancy bookkeeping. Think of the debt we are leaving our grandchildren. Jorgen Hansen Kelowna
