Pospisil was overlooked

Dear editor: Re: 10 greatest Okanagan sports moments, 2000-present (Okanagan Weekend, April 14).

You forgot one: Davis Cup playoff, 2011, when Vasek Pospisil of Vernon nearly single-handedly took Canada into the World Group of tennis by winning both his singles matches — including the deciding fifth rubber — and the doubles to lead Canada to a 3-2 win over Israel.

Canadian tennis hasn’t looked back, remaining in the World Group ever since. Vasek also won the Wimbledon doubles title in 2015.
