The Kelowna man accused of killing his wife and two daughters days before Christmas last year appeared briefly in court Monday.

Jacob Forman, 34, is charged with murdering his wife of 12 years, Clara Soledad Forman, and their two daughters, Yesenia Kate Forman, 8, and Karina Anne Forman, 7.

He is alleged to have killed them between Dec. 17 and Dec. 19, 2017. No details have been released about the deaths.

Police were called to the family’s Rutland home on Bolotzky Court the afternoon of Dec. 19.

Forman was originally charged with second-degree murder in the three deaths.

In March, the Crown upgraded two of the charges to first-degree murder, and the case was transferred from provincial court to B.C. Supreme Court.

Forman appeared in Kelowna’s B.C. Supreme Court via video Monday to fix a date.

He was wearing an orange jumpsuit and kept his head down

Crown prosecutor Murray Kaay informed the judge he was anticipating more information to be disclosed shortly and asked for an adjournment. The matter was adjourned to June 25. In court on Jan. 17, Forman’s lawyer, Glenn Verdumen, said he was waiting for disclosure of information, including details of the RCMP investigation into the murders.

On Feb. 15, Verdumen said he’d received a good deal of disclosures but still expected more the Crown and RCMP.
