Motionball Marathon has big goals
Motionball and Interior Savings Credit Union are teaming up again to bring Motionball Marathon of Sport to the Okanagan in September.
Taking place in Kelowna’s City Park, this social sporting event is expected to surpass its 2017 record fundraising total of $105,000, which all goes to the Special Olympic Canada Foundation.
“This year is our seventh year running motionball Kelowna,” co-event director Derek Fuhr said.
“The Special Olympic athletes who participate each year are happy be a part of a community that believes in them. We couldn’t be more proud to know that each year the Okanagan is increasing our support of this important cause.”
People team up with Special Olympics athletes in a variety of events in the day-long fundraiser.
Interior Savings CEO Kathy Conway is happy to be supporting the event for another year.
“Motionball Kelowna brings people together for greater good, it fosters a sense of belonging and inspires young people to give back to their community,” Conway said.
“We have a large crew of employees who register every year because it’s known to be a ton of fun, but also because those who participate say they feel a real sense of purpose and connection to the people they’re trying to help.”
