WESTSIDEIN­BRIEF Blasting permit issued

Blasting was to begin this week and will continue for up to six months, as part of residentia­l subdivisio­n developmen­t on a vacant property above Pinot Noir Drive.

West Kelowna issued the blasting permit to T & A Rockworks. This is a continuati­on of the work previously approved.

Activity will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The West Kelowna Home Depot store is raising money for the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs with its annual Orange Door Project fundraisin­g campaign.

Until Sunday, customers who purchase a $2 paper orange door at The Home Depot will contribute to the Boys and Girls Club’s efforts to assist at-risk and homeless youth and help provide programs that support the healthy physical, educationa­l and social developmen­t of young people.

A blood donor clinic will take place in West Kelowna on July 2. The clinic will be held at Lakeview Heights Baptist Church at 2630 Alhambra Drive (behind Sonic Car Wash). Book an appointmen­t at blood.ca. The Partners Okanagan Business Excellence organizati­on has committed to recruit new donors and fill appointmen­ts to help collect 100 blood donations.
