Police investigate report of Áagger hit

-

Police are still looking for witnesses after a trafÀc-control Áagger was hit Monday morning last week.

Mounties responded to a report of a hit-andrun collision in a construction zone in the 1100 block of Westside Road around 10:30 a.m.

The driver has come forward to police and is co-operating with the investigation, Const. Lesley Smith said Thursday.

The traffic-control person was stopping northbound trafÀc at the time.

The driver of the lead vehicle, a white Ford pickup truck, allegedly verbally threatened the traffic control person, wanting to go through the trafÀc stop.

He then proceeded through the stop, knocking the sign out of the Áagger’s hand, injuring her wrist, police said.

“West Kelowna RCMP would like to hear from any witnesses who observed this incident, and in particular would like to review any video footage that was recorded on a dashboard camera,” said Smith.

“Independent witnesses are crucial for any trafÀc-related investigation, as their information can assist in determining what exactly occurred at the scene.”

A witness stopped and told the victim he captured the incident on his dash camera, she said.

“Police are urging this motorist to come forward with this video evidence and ask all other witnesses to come forward to speak with police.”

Witnesses are asked to call the RCMP at 250-768-2880.
