Explosions rock West Kelowna home
Several people were injured as explosions and a raging fire engulfed a West Kelowna house Wednesday night.
Firefighters were called to the scene in the Glencoe Road area shortly after 9 p.m.The house was fully engulfed and several people were injured when they arrived.
Nearby residents reported multiple explosions with Áames and smoke coming from the singlefamily residence.
The injured people were transported by ambulance to hospital.
Fire crews went on to Àght the Àre from the outside of the building, due to structural damage and the risk of further explosions.
An excavator was requested to the scene to assist with extinguishment of the Àre. 1
Firefighters and trucks responded from the Westbank, Lakeview Heights, Glenrosa and Rose Valley Àre stations.
Additional off duty personnel were called back to man the halls while the Àre was being fought.
Fire investigators and RCMP were on scene Thursday to investigate.
————— Shortly before 11 p.m., crews were called to the Campbell Road area in Casa Loma for reports of a grass Àre. On arrival, a 50 by 50-foot Àre was discovered burning into a large pine tree in an orchard.
The fire was quickly knocked down by fire crews.
There was no damage to homes and no injuries. The cause of the Àre is under investigation and Àre inspectors attended the scene on Thursday as well.
