4 new titles free with Xbox Live

- SASCHA HEIST

The summer game drought is real. With very few titles coming out, here are some free Xbox Gold titles to tide you over until No Man’s Sky launches in a few weeks. Games With Gold July 2018 July gives gamers the opportunity to grab four new titles for their gaming collection at no cost (if you have Xbox Live).

Assault Android Cactus (Xbox One) is a bizarre title for a twin stick shooter. If you’re looking for that old-school, frantic fun, look no further then this arcade title. The campaign has co-operative play, so a friend can join and take on the baddies with you. The game offers a rewarding challenge as the levels progress and will have you entertained for hours.

Virtual Fighter 5 Final Showdown (Xbox 360) gets players back into the fighter genre. With tons of different characters, local play and online, you will be testing your fighting skills for a long time to come.

Splinter Cell Conviction (Xbox 360) is arguably the best game in the series. With a dark and gritty story and co-operative play, this is perfect for action fans. Stealth and action make this the game perfect for fans and newcomers alike.

Death Squared (Xbox One) is a puzzle game unlike any other game. If you’re looking for a party game that is all about co-operation and solving puzzles together, this is a perfect game for you.

* * * Look for my review of No Man’s Sky on the Xbox One in a week or two when it launches.

If you’re a fan of the Dreamcast and Shenmue 1 and 2, I have some great news: both games will be coming to the Xbox One on Aug. 20. If you missed the games the first time around, now is the perfect time to grab them and see what all the fuss was about.
