Man could face 50 years for child porn

- By The Associated Press

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A Millbrook man accused of producing a viral child porn video pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of sexually exploiting children.

Germaine Moore entered the plea in federal court in exchange for prosecutors agreeing to recommend a sentence of 50 years, court documents show. The 44-year-old was accused of sexually abusing three girls under the age of 12 between 2011 and 2017 in Alabama and Detroit.

The case began earlier this year after a video showing a young girl performing oral sex on an adult male was widely circulated on social media.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports that court testimony indicated that all three victims were girls under the age of 12 at the time of the abuse and the girl in the video was 6.

“From the very beginning, this was an especially horrifying crime,” District Attorney Randall Houston said. “Germaine Moore does not deserve to be out where he can breathe free air. This is a lengthy sentence, possibly a life sentence for him.”

The victims lived in Michigan and were relatives of Moore's.

The newspaper reported that Moore said little during his appearance in federal court.

The video, which was viewed as far away as France, sparked a manhunt for the person, or people behind it. Moore was arrested in February.

Prosecutors wrote in court documents that they found 231 images of possible child pornography on a hard drive that belonged to Moore and nude photographs of the victims on a memory card.
