Basran critic pans editor’s column

-

Dear editor: Re: “Basran deserves second term,” (Editor’s Notebook by James Miller, Daily Courier, Oct. 18).

Fake news. Wow! After reading the onesided subject column, I understand now why you don’t publish letters or columns of substance backed by fact.

Your column, if you can call it that, reads more like a paid advertisement written by the Basran campaign team. It's not journalism that’s for certain. Were you the paid one?

Somehow I don’t see you writing engaging columns, in the vein of and what one would expect of a journalist, ones might read in The Guardian or Washington Post anytime soon … your journalistic talents are almost as good Colin Basran’s news reporting back when he attempted a career with CHBC.

Keep up the good work of getting most of your papers content off the news wires….. perhaps why you are called an “editor" rather than a “journalist”?

Hopefully your career stop in Kelowna is as short as your owners. I know for certain you ain’t going to publish this! Jim McMullan

The only person who saw the light was Wayne Carson who voted against the bylaw change. Think about the people on the board who are asking to be re-elected to their various councils. Do you want someone like that representing you? I don’t.

Keep this in mind as you vote on Oct. 20. and for sure, vote for Wayne Carson. Beryl and Chuck Hopkins
