Police seek witnesses in downtown stabbing
Mounties say man suffered serious injuries after being stabbed multiple times early Oct. 10
Police are looking to identify witnesses in a downtown stabbing earlier this month.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10, Kelowna RCMP were called to assist the BC Ambulance Service, who were responding to 911 calls about a man who was stabbed in the 200 block of Lawrence Avenue at 12:17 a.m.
An altercation between two men quickly escalated to one of the men allegedly stabbing the other, said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
Police set up a containment area around the scene but were unable to locate the suspect.
The victim, a 33-year-old Kelowna man, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the hospital for treatment.
He suffered serious, non-lifethreatening injuries as a result of being stabbed multiple times.
Police have since identified and spoken with several witnesses, but they still want to speak with witnesses spotted on video surveillance footage who have yet to be identified.
The unknown male witness was seen wearing a black short-sleeved Toronto Blue Jays jersey with the number 10 on the back.
One of the unknown female witnesses had long dark hair, glasses and was seen carrying a darkcoloured purse.
The other unknown female witness had what is believed to be dirty-blond hair in a top knot, and was seen wearing a tank top and dark pants.
Witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or people who may know these unidentified witnesses are asked to call Const. Ewan Dewold at 250-470-6294 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
