Kelowna man faces charges in connection with break-in, stolen property

-

A Kelowna man has been arrested twice in one week for propertyrelated crimes.

On Oct. 17, Kelowna RCMP received a report of a break-in at a home on Hollywood Road South just after 11 a.m.

Images from the home’s video surveillance system were distributed to local media, and within hours an arrest was made.

Kelowna resident Neil Lingor, 32, was held in police custody overnight and was formally charged with breaking and entering to commit an offence, possessing break-in instruments, disguising his face with an intent to commit an offence and a breach of recognizance of bail.

Lingor was released from custody by the courts on Oct. 18.

At 10 a.m. Oct. 23, West Kelowna RCMP were contacted by the owner of a Honda generator, which had been reported stolen earlier that week to the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP.

The owner tracked his generator to the Central Okanagan, after he spotted the stolen item listed online for sale.

Officers attended a pre-arranged meeting place along Main Street in West Kelowna and arrested Lingor.

Lingor now faces additional criminal charges of possession of stolen property for the purpose of trafficking and a breach of recognizance of bail.

He has since been released by the courts and is expected to appear in court on Nov. 19.
