Curbside pickup of yard waste down to final month this year

Curbside pickup of yard waste in the Central Okanagan ends for the season on Nov. 30.

Yard waste, such as pumpkins, leaves, pine needles and garden debris, must be placed in the green bin by 7 a.m. on collection day.

About 13,000 tonnes of yard waste is collected annually from Central Okanagan homes and turned into materials such as GlenGrow, a soil enhancer.

Yard waste pickup will resume in the spring.
