Philanthropists to be recognized

A local group is celebrating National Philanthropy Day with a luncheon next week in Kelowna.

The Okanagan chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is presenting the event on Nov. 13, to recognize people who give their time and money to local charities. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Coast Capri Hotel.

“Philanthropy brings people together to work on important, common issues affecting each other and improve the quality of life in our communities,” said Richelle Leckey, chapter president. “I want to extend our great thanks and appreciation to everyone who supports charitable organizations in our community.”
