Broadway musical comes to Kelowna for a night

-

A top Broadway musical with music written by Cyndi Lauper will be performed at Prospera Place in March.

Kinky Boots, which won a Tony Award for Lauper’s musical score, is coming to the Kelowna arena on March 21. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Select Your Tickets.

The Broadway version of the play is now in its fifth year and it’s being performed around the world.

The show coming to Kelowna is produced by Troika Entertainment and presented by TN Touring with a number of Tony winners working behind the scenes.

TN Touring is owned by True North Sports, which owns the Winnipeg Jets and entertainment venues in Winnipeg, and sees a new opportunity in touring shows like this.

Said to be inspired by true events, Kinky Boots follows a shoemaker from Northampton, England, to the catwalks of Milan, where he get some help from Lola, a performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.
