SHOPLIFTER

Nov. 1 RCMP file: 2018-69531 A loss prevention officer at London Drugs on the 1900 block of Harvey Avenue in Kelowna contacted RCMP to report a shopliftin­g incident that occurred just after 4 p.m. on Nov. 1. A man entered the store and after browsing for a bit, asked for cigarettes at the customer service counter. He then ran out with the carton of cigarettes. The Caucasian male was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, running shoes and a brown ball cap. He was carrying yellow and white drywall stilts. ARSON Nov. 14 RCMP file: 2018-70553 Kelowna RCMP fire investigat­ors are looking for answers after a blaze destroyed several vehicles parked outside a Pandosy Street apartment building. RCMP were called to assist the Kelowna Fire Department at 4:20 a.m. on Nov. 14 where approximat­ely 10 vehicles under a carport were fully engulfed in flames. Police helped to evacuate the nearby building. Video surveillan­ce has been released that shows an individual on a bicycle who seems to light a vehicle with an accelerant. The jacket of the suspect appears to have a lighter coloured panel across the back. Police are asking if gas station staff in the area could review their surveillan­ce video to see if there were any purchases by individual­s arriving on foot or bicycle around that time period. MISSING TRAVEL TRAILER

Nov. 9 RCMP file: 2018-69718 West Kelowna RCMP are looking for informatio­n to help find a 5th wheel trailer reported stolen from a property on Old Okanagan Highway on Nov. 9. The trailer is a brown 38 foot 2015 Momentum 5th wheel valued at approximat­ely $35,000. The trailer had no licence plate attached and has VIN 573FM4225F­1102393.

MISCHIEF TO STREET SIGNS

Nov. 10 RCMP file: 2018-69900 West Kelowna RCMP received calls on Nov. 10 stating that at approximat­ely 1:30 a.m. a vehicle in the area of McIver Road, Webber Road and Coventry Crescent had driven over a number of traffic control signs. Neighbours state it may have been a pickup truck with a canopy. One resident heard a truck doing donuts at approximat­ely the same time. Police located a “Ford” light assembly and plastics at two locations on McIver Road. If you know of a truck missing some parts that seem to match this descriptio­n, please contact West Kelowna RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

MISCHIEF/THEFT FROM VEHICLE/FRAUD

Oct. 21 RCMP file: 2018-65657 Lake Country RCMP were contacted on Oct. 21 when a resident of the 10900 block of Sherman Drive discovered a smashed driver’s door window on their 2017 Subaru Impreza. A bank card and iPhone charger were missing from the centre console. The debit card was found to have been fraudulent­ly used at a couple of local gas stations by the male in the photos. The photos aren’t super clear, but the suspect is described as a Caucasian male with fair skin, short light brown or red hair, approximat­ely 5’7” to 5’9” tall with a slim build and was wearing a white cap, grey coat, backpack and jeans. The thief seems to have a penchant for lottery scratch tickets.

RESIDENTIA­L BREAK AND ENTER

Nov. 2 RCMP file: 2018-68371 On Nov. 2 between the hours of 12:45 and 1:20 p.m. a residence on Carrs Landing Road in Lake Country was broken into and personal items and many valuable pieces of jewelry (including a 1 ct diamond wedding ring and a vintage pearl necklace) were taken. The homeowner had come home to find a red Dodge truck with a female driver in the driveway stating she was lost and asking for directions. The resident then discovered the home had been broken into and ransacked. RCMP believe the female driver was the lookout and that she had an accomplice who committed the break, enter and theft. The female is described as Caucasian and of average height and body size with auburn hair. The truck is a newer model red Dodge short box crew cab pickup with no front licence plate.
