Brewery proposed in Lower Mission

A craft brewery is planned for a new mixed-use development now under construction in Kelowna’s Lower Mission.

Shore Line Brewery hopes to win city council’s endorsement for its liquor licence application for premises in the Shore building, opposite Gyro Park.

“Beer will be manufactured and sold on site, along with a full-service restaurant specializing in comfort food,” reads part of the company’s application.

There is currently no date for council to consider the matter.

7 vehicles rammed by alleged robbers

Four police cars and three civilian vehicles were rammed as a pair of alleged robbers attempted to evade police in the North Okanagan.

One man was arrested after a search with a police dog. The other remains at large.

Shortly after an attempted robbery in Salmon Arm Monday morning, Enderby Mounties located the suspect vehicle, a white Ford pickup truck, travelling south on Highway 97A.

In its attempt to flee from police, the suspect vehicle rammed the police and civilian vehicles, causing significant damage, said Const. Kelly Brett.

A police dog and police air services were called in, and officers located the vehicle at the end of Jack Pine Road, where it came to a stop with both suspects fleeing on foot.

One man was taken into custody by an officer and his dog.

As of Monday evening, one suspect remained at large, and officers were still heavily engaged in the investigation, said Brett.

No injuries were reported.
