Albas has different take on history

-

Dear Editor:

Once again this biased paper has chosen to post the delusional ramblings of Dan Albas in defending probably one of the most corrupt prime ministers Canada has ever had in Stephen Harper (Courier, Feb. 22).

Albas backed Harper’ s bullying tactics and imaginative financial dealings for nearly five years to balance his fantasy budgets.

Now that Mr.Wishy Washy is backing Andrew Scheer after his chosen candidate Maxime Bernier decided to form his own party. Albas has decided once again to bestow platitudes on his former boss.

Well let’s look at a few instances of Harper’s reign:

He campaigned on a cap-and-trade carbon plan in 2008, then mocked it in 2011. There was no rose in his lapel, but he could swivel like Pierre Trudeau and flip-flop with the best.

His ugly attack ads, his fear-mongering and his muzzling of his own MPs and ministers all served to undermine his standing.

He even invoked Parliamentary privilege in 2015 to avoid testifying in a libel lawsuit launched against him and his former director of communications, Jason MacDonald, by the National Council of Canadian Muslims after MacDonald allegedly linked the group to Hamas.

Harper had once again avoided being tested under oath by a tenacious, prepared lawyer.

Hmm, sounds like hiding to me! R. St. Martin Lake Country
