Slowly re-opening

Local government­s as well as retail stores and dine-in restaurant­s are beginning to re-open with COVID-19 protocols in place.

Westbank First Nation is beginning its phased re-opening to the public. Initial openings will start Monday and will include WFN’s Health and Wellness Building and the Westbank Child Developmen­t Centre.

WFN’s parks, greenspace­s, beaches and sports Àelds such as Pine Stadium and Shannon Lake ballÀelds are open for casual use only. Physical distancing measures remain in place.

WFN’s IR 10 beach lots, skate bowl, pumptrack, multi-use sport court, playground­s, volleyball courts and outdoor Àtness equipment remain closed at this time

The City of West Kelowna has reopened its skateboard park, pickleball and tennis courts as part of its response to the phased strategy unveiled in the Province’s Restart Plan as part of the COVID-19 recovery.

Those using the amenities will notice new signage for enhanced protocols for use, including staying home if you have symptoms, practising good hygiene, maintainin­g a two-metre distance and no hand-shaking.

Peachland has also opened its outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts and skate park. Participan­ts must stay two metres apart, practice good hand hygiene and avoid gatherings in groups. Playground­s, outdoor Àtness equipment and indoor recreation facilities remain closed for now.

Esteem Lingerie has re-opened and resumed regular business hours.

Kelly O’Bryan’s West Kelowna has re-opened for dine-in from 11 a.m. to midnight. There will be limited seating capacity and new procedures will be in place due to COVID 19 for the safety of staff and customers.

Mark’s on the Westside has re-opened. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
