Join Regional Parks on their Instagram channel at 10:30 a.m. for a pond dip with a park interprete­r to learn what’s under the lily pads. The program is part of the parks department’s series of online programmin­g during the COVID-19 pandemic. These programs are not available in-person. Regional Parks will be using Instagram Live, a feature on Instagram stories that allows users to stream video to their followers and engage with them in real time. This program is for all ages. While maintainin­g physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic is essential, the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is urging area residents not to forget about people living with dementia and their caregivers. One way the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is offering support is through free weekly webinars. People can take in a webinar at 2 p.m. on coping with changes brought by dementia in which they will explore change and loss and the uncertaint­y of the dementia experience. The BC Choral Federation is offering a virtual town hall series designed to explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on B.C.’s choral community. The series begins from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. with Safe Singing – a panel discussion with Dr. Michael Schwandt, Medical Health Officer, Vancouver Coastal Health and BC Centre for Disease Control, along with Morna Edmundson of Elektra Women’s Choir/Enchor and Willi Zwozdesky, BCCF Executive Director, Vancouver Men’s Chorus. This virtual town hall series is open to BCCF members and non-members. Meetings take place every two weeks with different guests. Participan­ts must register for each session, where there will be an opportunit­y to submit questions in advance. There will also be an opportunit­y to ask questions during the videoconfe­rence.
