Bottle drive
SATURDAY
Habitat for Humanity is hosting a bottle drive at its ReStore at 1793 Ross Rd, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help build affordable housing in the Okanagan. People are asked to bring their bottle donations to the back receiving area near the white shipping containers and a team of volunteers will help them unload.
Christmas tree chipping
Peachland Fire Rescue is offering contactless pickup for residents as part of its sixth annual Christmas Tree Chipping for Charity event. There will be no tree drop off this year. Instead, the fire department will be picking up trees by donation. All decorations and tinsel must be removed. Donations will be accepted by e-transfer. Contact the Peachland Fire Department at 250-767-2841 or email fireclerk@peachland.ca for pick-up and donation information. All proceeds will go to Muscular Dystrophy of Canada.
Art gallery
Peachland Art Gallery reopens after the Christmas break with the new Five Visions exhibition showcasing over 60 works in a variety of mediums. COVID-19 guidelines will allow only 10 people in the gallery at a time. Masks will be provided to those who don’t have their own and social distancing will be enforced. The gallery at 5684 Beach Ave. is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Jan. 11 is the deadline for submissions for the 2021 Captured Images Exhibition, open to fine art photographers in the Okanagan. For more information go online to peachlandarts.ca.

School-age children can create a quilled paper snowflake at the Okanagan Regional Library’s online quilling snowflakes workshop from, 3:30 to 4 p.m. Participants will need white and blue paper strips, toothpick or thin pencil, glue, scissors, geometric compass, a sheet of paper and a small ruler. Readers connect
Okanagan Regional Library’s the Readers program from 2 to 3 p.m. helps adults connect with fellow book lovers, learn about new books and share their opinions. To help the discussion flow, each week starts with a question or theme and the conversation goes from there. The program is open to all kinds of readers. Regional Parks will release its prerecorded Storytime video at 10:30 a.m. on their IGTV Instagram channel as well as one the Regional District’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/regionaldistrict. This program is for all ages. Past online programs can be viewed on the Regional District’s YouTube channel.

Who Goes There
Learn how to spot and track animals at the Who Goes There program from Regional Parks, live online from 1 to 2 p.m. A park interpreter will show how to identify the sway and walking patterns of different animals in the park.
