It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Hafstein on June 8, 2022 in Penticton, BC. She was 90 years old, just ten days short of her 91st birthday. She was born in Regina, SK on June 18, 1931. She is predecease­d by her husband of 39 years, John Hafstein; and her sister, Mildred. Mildred was a twin sister to Mariam who lives in the Penticton area. Lois was born in Regina, but she was raised and went to school in Penticton, BC. farm in Saskatchew­an where she worked as home support. There she met

Florence Nickelson, in December, 1955 to cancer. John and Florence had four children, Gary (Alice), Maureen Salekin (Earl), Lynn Ballard (Robin) and Irwin (Maureen). When Lois and John were married, Lois brought her son, Donni Hamilton to the family and they eventually had three more sons, Craig (Annie), Laurie who passed away in 1990, and Alan. The mixed family stayed and worked on the farm in the Maidstone, SK area until 1960 when they decided to move to Wasa, BC. The family spent most of their growing up years together in Wasa. Lois eventually moved back to Penticton to be closer to her parents. While there she spent a number of years dedicating her time to helping with the Penticton Lioness Club.
